3 Tips that can save you thousands this winter

December 4, 2021

Winter can bring some extra wear and tear to your roof so to help prevent costly damage why not check out these roof maintenance tips below:

1. Remove Snow

We all know that the British weather is unpredictable but over the last few years we are seeing snow as a common occurrence. Although, snow on your rooftops can look very picturesque the reality is the complete opposite and snow left on your roof for too long can cause havoc! If left to melt with varying degrees in temperatures, an ice dam can occur in and around your gutters causing blockages which could eventually lead to a new roof being required.

2. Clear Debris

During the winter months and especially living on the coast strong winds can cause debris and dirt to be blown onto your roof and in your gutters. It is usually advisable before winter starts to check and remove any debris that is on your roof. By removing debris it helps prevent moisture gripping to your roof, becoming water logged and rotting which could lead to a leak.

3. Schedule a Roof Inspection

Although, some roof maintenance tasks can be performed yourself, if you are concerned at all that your roof will feel the strain during the winter months then why not schedule a roof inspection by a certified and registered roofer to put your mind at ease? By letting the experts take the reins you get to sit back and enjoy the festivities without having to stress or worry about the condition of your roof.
